 As a musician, I serve the purpose of providing students and listeners with the tools to have agency in the process of music-making and connecting with new perspectives. music-making is a unique opportunity to express self though art in a collaborative environment.  Collaborative music-making gives students the opportunity to learn lessons in communication, cooperation, and responsibility. My students will be engaged in activities in which they will learn to listen, respond, work skillfully and efficiently with others, and build a sense of ownership for what they learn and create- all of which being skills that easily translate to navigating life outside of the classroom or private lesson space.
